Brian,

I suspect that you never had an LDM running on this machine, correct. Also
there was an update HPUX 11.0 recently.  

There errors are from the rpc layer of the LDM. The man page on:
rpc_svc_create  explains the detail of the svc_fd_create call.  I suspect
that the error is the result of needed patches for the rpc layer and/or
the reinstallation of the rpc libraries. Also one can use:

% netstat -s 

To look at the network statistics via protocol


At this point, I would get your system admin to help diagnose the rpc
problem.  I will contact our sysadmin about the HPUX 11.0 system and ask
his advice on the rpc problem.
