20000824: problem compiling ldm-5.1.2

Dallas,

It appears that you have previously run ./configure since
we are seeing "cached" values.

I have built here using:
%gcc -v
gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314 (egcs-1.1.2 release)

I suggest you run: "make distclean"
to remove any cached configuration, then verify what version
of gcc you are using- the error below appears to be related
to your installation of gcc.

Rerun configure and run "make all" before trying "make install"
and "make install_setuids".

If you still have trouble, please let us know what version of gcc
you are running.
