Re: 20010516: LDM change at PSU (fwd)

Robb,

I broke it into two entries and now it's working. Seems to me this could
be construed as some sort of "bug". Why should the server arbitrarily
drop requested feedtypes when a request for a list of feedtypes or ANY is
made? My navier system is requesting ANY from ldm.meteo.psu.edu and it
started getting NMC2 as soon as it started coming to ldm.meteo.psu.edu
from motherlode, but my allow line in ldm.meteo.psu.edu is ANY to navier.
Maybe there's some requirement (or problem?) with matching allow entries
with request entries...?

                                     Thanks again...

                                          Art.

Yes, but I'm getting all kinds of DDPLUS and HDS stuff from motherlode
just fine. It's only NMC2 (don't know about FSL or SPARE) that aren't
showing up. You probably can't traceroute because you're hitting the
firewall at the entrance to the E&MS College at PSU, but I don't think
that should be a problem.

What do the reclass lines in the logs below mean? --

                                     Thanks.

Robb,

I did notifyme to motherlode with -f NMC2 and it's printing out lots of
stuff. However, the LDM is still not getting it. My ldmd.conf line is:

request WMO|FSL2|HDS|NMC2|SPARE ".*" motherlode.ucar.edu

After restarting the LDM, I show the following in ldmd.log:

May 22 14:53:17 ldm rpc.ldmd[14790]: Starting Up (built: May 15 2001 13:54:44)

With an ANY request:

request ANY ".*" motherlode.ucar.edu

I get:

May 22 15:07:40 ldm rpc.ldmd[14882]: Starting Up (built: May 15 2001 13:54:44)

May 22 15:07:54 ldm navier(feed)[14894]: topo: navier.meteo.psu.edu ANY

... and still no NMC2 data.

Am I doing something dumb here, or is there a problem with the LDM? I
haven't tried breaking the request up into more than one line yet. I'm
running LDM 5.1.3 on RedHat 7.1.

                                     Thanks.

                                       Art.
