Does anyone know if there any web pages or other information currently posted on
how people are using LDM on LDAD?

We have been using LDM for several years posting AFOS data on a HP-755 system in
our office providing a database for our PCs, triggering various scripts to
generate portions of our web pages, etc. We have used a structure like the
following to post CLIs

AFOS ^(...)(CLI)(...)
    FILE -strip -overwrite /extdrv1/Pubdata/CLI/\1CLI\3
AFOS ^(LBB|FTW|SAT|ABQ|OKC)(CLI)(...)
    EXEC /extdrv1/web_page/scripts/update_cli

Are some offices using similar formats on LDAD-LDM? Does an existing source of
AFOS products already flow into LDAD, or do you have to set up triggers on the
DS to send data to LDAD?

Thanks for any help.

We are triggering text products out of ds1 to ls1, and putting them in
a directory we created. We then use a perl script called
dissemenate.pl that monitors that directory. It acts on any file that
gets stored there based on a configuration file. This disseminate
info can be found at http://awips.wrh.noaa.gov/LDAD/LDAD-06.htm.

That script does a pqinsert ... AFOS of the products into the ldm
queue. Then they get distributed from there, mainly to feed the WR
Web server system. It all works pretty well.

I know some sites are feed their LDM from the APS, and that too works
well. That solution has the advantage of being simpler plus being
redundant. With the APS fix coming, its also stable.

     Randy
