The 2009 Unidata Equipment Awards Program
Sponsored by the National Science Foundation
_____________________________________________________________
We once again set aside $100k this year to fund the Equipment
Awards program with special consideration given to proposals
that, 1) Enhance participation and advancement of underrepresented populations,
particularly proposals by investigators in Community and Baccalaureate colleges
and minority serving institutions and, 2) Provide useful datasets to the
Unidata community to support education and research.
A request for proposals was sent out in January with a
submission deadline of March 16th. A
Review Panel was formed and met on April 7th at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Jonathan Martin - “Equipment
Modernization for a Geophysical Data Visualization Classroom”
Congratulations to all of the recipients and we thank the
Review Panel members, NSF and the Unidata community for their continued support
of the Equipment Awards Program.
