FIX: For those who run into this, I checked QPID, nothing showing in queues.
Turns out CENTOS6 did not put the hostname to IP mapping entry in /etc/hosts
Added the hostname and IP, and off it went. QPID required the hostname to map
to an IP to bind correctly.

I did a clean CENTOS 6.5 install, installed EDEX on that.
All in status is OK (all running) , but nothing listening on port 9581, and
CAVE client will not connect to it. the CAVE does connect to the unidata test
server.
Data is storing in the data_store directory etc, all well it appears.
Did have to again chmod -R awips.fxalpha /awips2 or ldm would not store data
in /awips2/data_store
The postgresql issue was apparently due to CENTOS 5.X being used for Edex.
Installed 6.X per the listed requirements.

If it goes this long, Ctrl+C cancel out of it and run "edex" again. If all
services are running then everything is fine.
