[awips2-users] unable to load metars?

My friend and I both installed AWIPS II cave yesterday, Mine on centos 6.6 and his on centos 7.
Both using the same data server, however, my METARS will not display, his will. 
the alert that pops up is "unable to load point data"
I can not load 7 on to the computer because it will not see my networkcard. any ideas?
