Michael,
Adding the --disablerepo flag didn't change anything for me (I'm
installing CAVE, not EDEX, but I assume that doesn't matter). What did
work was for me to:
1) yum remove netcdf (which also uninstalled ncview)
2) Run the CAVE install script
3) yum install ncview
Now I have both ncview and the CAVE client working on my machine.

but would that break ncview on my machine (which depends on the
netcdf-4.3.3.1 package)? Is there a better way to make it work?
