We are pleased to announce the release of COMET case study 007, a case study of a high plains snow event over Southern Wyoming and Northern Colorado on 13-14 March 1996. Case 007 is now available for searching, browsing, and ordering for FTP download through the CODIAC WWW system. The case was developed for the COMET Satellite Meteorology residence course and includes GOES-8 and GOES-9 satellite imagery; radar data from Cheyene, WY, Denver, CO, Goodland, KS, and Pueblo, CO; as well as NOWRAD composite imagery from WSI. The case study also includes surface and upper air observations, NCEP model data, and textual weather reports from the NWS Family Of Services (FOS). SEARCH, BROWSE, AND FTP ACCESS All of the individual datasets that are part of case 007 are available through the CODIAC system for searching, browsing, and ordering subsets of the data for delivery via FTP. Several datasets, in particular, those archived as GIF images or GEMPAK surface files, can be browsed through the CODIAC web interface. 8MM TAPE STILL AVAILABLE If you want all or most of the data for this case study, we are still making an 8mm tape containing the entire case study available. The tape can also be ordered through the CODIAC system. For details on how to order a tape, see the web page: http://www.joss.ucar.edu/cometCases/faq.html#howGetTape E-MAIL LIST An e-mail list, casestudies@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, is available for people interested in case study data. The case studies list has been created to enable the community of case study users to communicate with each other about the case studies. New capabilities and new case studies will be announced on the Case Studies mail list.
