[community] February 2025 NSF Unidata Update

Hello NSF Unidata community,

In case you missed it -- here's a wrap-up of what's been going on at the
NSF Unidata Program Center in February:

NSF Unidata Update: February 2025
<https://www.unidata.ucar.edu/blogs/news/entry/nsf-unidata-update-february-2025>

Some highlights:

   - Book Review - StatQuest Guide to Neural Networks
   - FireWxPy: A Python Package For Fire Weather Analysis And Forecasting
   - AMS 2025 Conference Highlights from the NSF Unidata Staff

In addition, you are invited to participate in a study titled “Needs
Assessment for Earth System Science (ESS) Engagement, Education, and
Training,” being conducted by researchers at UCAR. They would love to hear
about any learning opportunities that you offer on emerging ESS
capabilities — ranging from AI/ML and data management to relationship
building, creativity, and more — that are needed in the workplace now and
in the future. They estimate that the survey will take 15-20 minutes to
complete. See Are We Preparing Earth Systems Science Practitioners for the
Future?

on

Thanks for your interest,
Doug Dirks and the NSF Unidata Staff
