Hi Rob, Thanks for the cdl file. I'm not sure I know how to create 1.25 raw data from the ldm feed, and the ldm is the source of my data. For the older decoders I had an entry like this in my pqact file: HRS ^H[UVHRP][I-P]... KWB. (..)(..).*(/mAVN|/mSSIAVN) PIPE /usr/local/ldm/decoders/bin/gribtonc -q "lin,dlat=1.25,dlon=1.25" decoders/etc/avn-1.25x1.25.cdl data/GRIB/(\1:yyyy)(\1:mm)\1\2_avn-1.25x1.25.nc
Ruth, Create raw file using FILE action in the pqact.conf with following entry: HRS ^H[UVHRP][I-P]... KWB. (..)(..).*(/mAVN|/mSSIAVN) FILE data/GRIB/(\1:yyyy)(\1:mm)\1\2_gfs_37-44.wmo Here's how to create the 1.25 cdl % gribtocdl -v -q "lin,dlat=1.25,dlon=1.25" < "raw file from above" > gfs-1.25x1.25_37-44.cdl You will still have to edit the cdl to make it 100% correct. Robb...
I thought gribtonc was doing some interpolating because the -q "lin,dlat=1.25,dlon=1.25" was an option to gribtonc. I think if i just save everything that I get from HRS ^H[UVHRP][I-P]... KWB. (..)(..).*(/mAVN|/mSSIAVN) into a file for a date, that it won't really be 1.25 data. I'm not sure at all, but since I could get 2.5, 1.25 and 1 degree resolution from the same grib data, I thought it was gribtonc that was doing the interpolating. I could try saving all the grib data as above into a file and see what gribtocdl does with it, but how it would create a 1.25 data file I don't know. I have used gribtocdl before for existing grib files, but I'm a little confused about how this would work. I don't have any 1.25 raw data to make that one. You can make the cdls yourself with the gribtocdl program. When making the 1 degree, I found some bugs in the gribtocdl program so I need to make a new release. It was missing some level info in the program. So release decoders-3.0.3 should be able to create the 1.25 one. Will let you know when I completed the release.
