However, when I tried to run gribtocdl on the real grib obtained from LDM I received several errors along these lines: [root@granger CRWR]# gribtocdl -v eta218_200501180000.grib > eta218_200501180000.cdl Jan 19 17:01:02 gribtocdl[24090]: Starting Up Jan 19 17:01:02 gribtocdl[24090]: oversize GRIB product 2 Jan 19 17:01:02 gribtocdl[24090]: GRIB product: YZBA89 KWBE 180000 Jan 19 17:01:02 gribtocdl[24090]: oversize GRIB product 2 Jan 19 17:01:02 gribtocdl[24090]: GRIB product: ZZBB89 KWBE 180000 Jan 19 17:01:03 gribtocdl[24090]: oversize GRIB product 2 Jan 19 17:01:03 gribtocdl[24090]: GRIB product: YPBA98 KWBE 180000 ... appears some of the files are corrupt, probably missing the 7777 terminations or worst a bug. did a cdl file get created? if so did gribtonc run on the data. we don't save/get the awips data so a sample of the data would help. robb...
I have read something in the archives about using dcgrib2, but as an alternative to dcgrib rather than as an alternative to gribtocdl.
