I have been experimenting with the WCS client support in ArcMap - I having a few problems - but it works. One immediate problem, is looking at my mapserver logs I see127.0.0.1 - - [03/Jun/2008:09:28:56 -0600] "GET /cgi-bin/mapserv.exe?map=:/my.map&request=&service== wcs&version=.0.0&?SERVICE=&VERSION=.0.0&REQUEST=&COVER=AGE=TCOVERAGE&FORMAT=&BBOX=-105.416718969917,40.2449477101162,-105.41=6614363416,40.2450522898838&WIDTH=&HEIGHT=&CRS=:4326&INTERPOLATI=ON=arest%20neighbor HTTP/1.1" 200 941 "-" "-"
127.0.0.1 - - [03/Jun/2008:09:28:56 -0600] "GET /cgi-bin/mapserv.exe?map=:/my.map&request=&service=&version=.0.0&?SERVICE==WCS&VERSION=.0.0&REQUEST=&COVERAGE=&FORMAT==&BBOX=-105.416195937414,39.5775194531667,-104.533630891309,40.2445295710453&WIDTH=&HEIGHT=&CRS=:4326&INTERPOLATION=%20neighbor HTTP/1.1" 200 1339553 "-" So the getcoverage request is malformed (two request parameters), this is a result of not updating the getcoverage and describecoverage urls from the initial get capabilities response. MapServer handles this well, not sure other servers would. Also what is the 2x2 request, is this an in-memory file? Looking at the gdal wcs driver I see that you can change the configuration of the driver to support extra parameters, such as the preferred request format - is this file configurable in arcmap? I appreciate that most of this is ArcMap not GDAL, just reporting my experience - great to see another gui client to do interoperability testing with. Thanks, Norman

Ben, I'd be interested in experienced folks have with this WCS client. I believe it is the GDAL WCS driver. I'm interested in making improvements in the client as it is determined necessary. Tickets can be filed directly against GDAL at: http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal I'm not sure what version of GDAL is used in the ArcGIS client - there have been a variety of recent improvements that are likely not in the released software.
