Hi Pat,
you wrote the following to Pete Pokrandt/gembud mail list:
I just checked the MU data directory again, and imagery began arriving
just this morning at 9:12 am.
My impression after reading your email to Pete and the gembud list is that
the images you are referring to are different from the ones that Pete is
referring to:
- Pete was referring to the satellite images in the IDD NIMAGE datastream.
Those images are the ones broadcast by the NWS in NOAAPort and relayed
by us as the NIMAGE feed in the IDD. Those images should have been
included in the IDD with no interruption other than when NOAA switched
to the use of GOES-13 for GOES-East surveillance.
- the GOES-East image sectors in Unidata-Wisconsin datastream (IDD feedtype
UNIWISC (aka MCIDAS)) were also being created and sent right along, but the
Product IDs for the GOES-East products were not what they should have
been (i.e., UNKSAT instead of GOES-13 and UNKBAND instead of the various
imager channel information)
I fixed the problem in the creation of the UNIWISC imagery Product IDs
this morning in time for the broadcast of the 14:45Z set. At this
point, existing GEMPAK and McIDAS 'pqact' actions would start saving
the files again since the patterns used in the 'pqact' actions would
once again match the Product IDs for the GOES-East products.
If you have a local archive of the Unidata-Wisconsin images, and want
to recover the UNIWIS images that you missed, I will send you the access
information for the rolling archive maintained on the Unidata machine
hosted in the UW/SSEC Data Center. Please let us know if you need/want
this information.
Cheers,
Tom
