Hi Kwan,At least using the IDD feed from Unidata, we seem to be decoding synoptic data without a problem. There do seem to be some missing data in some countries, but I'm not sure if decoder related. I've attached a plot from 18Z today.
Our pqact entry is as follows(tabs not included): # Synoptic land reports # WMO (^S[IM]V[IGNS])|(^SNV[INS])|(^S[IMN](W[KZ]|[^VW])) PIPE decoders/dclsfc -v 2 -s lsystns.upc -d data/gempak/logs/dclsfc.log -e GEMTBL=/home/gempak/GEMPAK6.2.0/gempak/tables /gem7/data/syn/YYYYMMDD_syn.gem James ---------------------------------------------- James Murakami Staff Meteorologist/Student Affairs Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences University of California, Los Angeles 405 Hilgard Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90095-1565 e-mail: tenki@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx telephone: 310-825-2418 Fax: 310-206-5219 ---------------------------------------------- On 02/24/2011 01:24 PM, Kwan-Yin.Kong@xxxxxxxx wrote:
Hi everyone, Has anyone tried decoding synoptic data over SE Asia (the Philippines, for example) using DCLSFC? It apparently fails to do so for some reasons. The actual synoptic data are present, and GEMPAK station table contains the required station info. But for unknown reasons, DCLSFC fails to decode the data. DCLSFC does not appear to display error messages, making it hard to debug. Any ideas?
