Ok lets try this on a different avenue ..
Michael .. anybody .. which one of the many GEMPAK file's
does the projection calculations, I started to follow the path out of
gpmap.f and hit a dead end .....

I spent some time playing with the Sector Projections (in stns.tbl),

good in LCC vs NPS, but now I want to use the same parms in other mapping
software... but they all either need the opposite corners, or world
files, which
again need the opposite corners to create the needed info..
I even crossed my fingers and had GEMPAK create a tiff, in hopes it
might be geotiff,
but alas it's not ...
any idea's ??
