The log shows errors like this:

checking how to run the C++ preprocessor... /lib/cpp
configure: error: in `/usr/local/ldm/nawips/extlibs/xslt/libxslt':
configure: error: C++ preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check

Does that file exist?  Is the cpp rpm installed?
