If you've been running mcidas to make GOES imagery in the past or present, this
will help:
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0ahUKEwjG79autqvbAhUGA6wKHQAaDMEQFggpMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ssec.wisc.edu%2Fmcidas%2Fmug_meeting%2F2016%2Ftraining%2FMcIDAS_ABI_Tutorial.pdf&usg=AOvVaw3s7-unHIpu7NhQfWusrzo6
The steps are:
1. Make a directory where the files are to be kept.
2. Download netcdf files from AWS into that directory (See
https://registry.opendata.aws/noaa-goes/ for how to do that)
3. Run the DSSERVE command to add the data source.
4. Switch your scripts to use the new data source (I named mine ABI/FDEAST),
channel numbers, and resolutions.

Subject: [gembud] GOES-16
Greetings,
Has anyone been able to create GOES-16 data for GEMPAK? If so, do they mind
sharing the steps they used to allow GOES-16 into GEM.
