June 14, 2008 Esteemed Colleague: The Unidata Program Center (Unidata) of the U.S. University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), in cooperation with the University of Sao Paulo (USP) and the Brazilian Meteorological Society (SBMET), is holding a Latin American Data Workshop. The three day workshop will be held in the Institute for Astronomy, Geophysics, and Atmospheric Science (IAG) facilities on the campus of the University of Sao Paulo in Sao Paulo, Brazil immediately preceding the CBMET XV meeting of the SBMET on August 21-23, 2008. The purpose of the workshop is the promotion of scientific collaborations among the U.S. education and research communities and counterparts in Latin America. Presentations on data, tools and forecast systems that foster collaborations among the research and education communities in the Western Hemisphere are welcome but not required.
