That’s a good point about the deprecated JVM flags. Java 9 simply refuses to
run when given MaxPermSize or java.ext.dirs (though it allows
java.library.path). Speaking of Java 9, the VisAD/IDV/McV stack seems to work
just fine—but we haven’t distributed the Java 9 builds to any users, so the
sample size is just a few people.
