Gilbert - I don't know if this will help, but traceroutes from FSU to
NIU are still horrible...kind of echoes your comments about your
provider or a weak link in Chicago. This one is typical of the few

Admin people were looking at the problem at this end, while people

the same at your end. Someone obviously found and fixed the problem.
We were former Genuity customers, and are now on Level 3 because they
bought Genuity out last fall. The switchover has been horrid for us.
Our
IT admin just emailed me back and said they did nothing on this end to
fix it. They just know that Level 3 is having a ton of problems and the
customer service...well, I'll just leave it at that.
