We can't get that discount here at Universal obviously, but that would be
a solution at NSBF. I actually
prefer Solaris x86, but it won't install on NSBF's Dell Precision 450
workstations
(SCSI driver issues....the LSI driver loads but hangs during install).

We're pretty much all RedHat here. Upgraded a few machines to
fedora so far, no major problems yet but haven't really run
any Unidata software on any yet.
The RH Academic Server enterprise version looks potentially desirable
to me just for the potential of 5 yrs of fixes w/o having to upgrade
the entire OS. Mainly for productions machines where downtime and
dealing with all the little issues that always seem to come up with
a distro upgrade would be a hassle.
