Opteron seems to be catching on..Sun just announced it was
going to port Solaris x86 over to it and ship their own
Opteron systems.

I'm about to. Be running ldm and postgres on a new dual-opteron system.
I'll let you know.
However, I'd expect it to "just work" once I learn where _it_ puts
things as opposed to Solaris/RedHat/Slackware (the ones I'm currently
most familiar with)...
