Hi Dave and Tom,
Could you please forward the announcement below for the AGU town hall
meeting to "your" community? I have only e-mail lists for the
glaciologists and solid earth science folks, since that's the stuff I'm
doing and I think it's crucial that the atmospheric science community is
represented at this meeting.
If you know of any other (better) way how to reach your colleagues
please let me know.
Thanks!
Michael

Hello all,
Most of you have probably heard that there is substantial interest in
the Antarctic science community in a long range research aircraft.
Concrete steps are underway to assess the feasibility of modifying one
of the mothballed LC-130s for science. There will be a community
workshop in the Spring next year with the goal of articulating the
science justification for airborne research in Antarctica and defining
the science requirements. There will be a town hall meeting at the AGU
in San Francisco to discuss the science requirements for a long range
science aircraft for polar research:

If you have suggestions for agenda items or questions please e-mail me.
I'm looking forward to see you in San Francisco,
Michael
