Hi,
Version 6.9.0 of the LDM is now available at
<http://unidata.ucar.edu/software/ldm>.
Installation and configuration are different in this release -- so
PLEASE FOLLOW CLOSELY THE NEW INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION
INSTRUCTIONS. In particular, the installation directories follow the GNU
automake(1) standard and a registry is used rather than the Perl
ldmadmin(1) configuration-file. Also, the configure(1) script will
create some symbolic links to pre-6.9 directories if you upgrade a
existing, pre-6.9 installation.
Check the CHANGE_LOG file or the "History" link on the webpage for a
list of other improvements.

Hey folks,
I want to briefly comment here.
This has been a very interesting version to test. Obviously, as you go
through the change log, you'll see many changes, new things to learn,
and more. Don't rush to just install this and "get 'er done". This
version 6 release is not like that! The ldmmetrics is WAY cool for traffic
analysis, and the feature I've been wanting forever...notifying you that
a feed was down...is finally here. That's why I've been all over the
outages over the last few weeks...no more kludged together scripts to make
something like it work. Now, a few crontab entries, and you're done.
Hey, gang! Let me throw out a couple of these monitoring examples...
1,6,11,16,21,26,31,36,41,46,51,56 * * * * /bin/bash -l -c 'wasReceived -f
"WMO|NIMAGE|NGRID|NEXRAD3" -o 5' || echo NOAAPORT data-products have not been
received in the last 5 minutes
1,11,21,31,41,51 * * * * /bin/bash -l -c 'wasReceived -f "NEXRAD2" -o 10' ||
echo LEVEL2 data-products have not been received in the last 10 minutes

Well done, Steve! Merry Christmas to you, the UNIDATA family, and the
