Hi,
Just a reminder, beginning with LDM 6.10, the default current working
directory of the pqact(1) processes is user-configurable through the LDM
registry. This directory will be used to convert relative FILE pathnames
into absolute pathnames and to find PIPE decoders with relative
pathnames. The relevant registry parameter is "/pqact/datadir-path"
(execute the command "regutil /pqact/datadir-path" to see yours). By
default, when installing the LDM from scratch, this directory will be
"$HOME/var/data" (it can be overridden on the configure(1) invocation).
When upgrading an existing, pre-6.10 installation, this directory should
remain the home directory.
The motivation for this was to try to conform more closely to standards
on directory usage, in which transient data is stored under a "var/"
subdirectory.
Regards,
Steve Emmerson

Eric,
That was it. It was my (obviously incorrect) understanding that
decoders/dcgrib2 would be relative to LDM's home directory, (i.e.
/home/ldm). Since the path is relative to /home/ldm/ldm as you note,
then yes, my link to dcgrib2 was incorrect. (It resides in
/home/ldm/decoders/).
Also as Chiz noted, the "rap" directory was automatically created once
the decoder path was corrected.
A sheepish thank you; sorry for bothering everyone with such a silly
mistake.

Hi Phil,
Does ~/ldm/decoders/dcgrib2 exist or linked correctly?
I see you reference:
GEMTBL=/store1/gempak/GEMPAK6.7.0/gempak/tables
Which leads me to believe you have gempak installed on some alternate
storage point. If you're not getting the log file but you are seeing
data in notifyme -vl- then that leads me to believe the PIPE is
failing...so I'd start there.

Thank you Donna and James for your reply.
Donna - changing to an absolute path didn't seem to do anything, but
I've left it as absolute paths just in case.
James: I'm assuming that an ldmadmin restart would take care of this,
or am I mistaken? In any event, I ran the command with the LDM running.

Hi Phil,
You may have already done it, but I'll ask anyway...
After modifying your pcact file, did you restart with
"ldmadmin pqactHUP" ?

Hey everyone,
We're working on updating our pqact entry to pull the new rapid
refresh grids. I think I'm still a bit off because we aren't
saving any grids nor is the log file (dcgrib2_RAP.log) being created.
Here is my pqact entry:
CONDUITprod/rap.*grib2
PIPEdecoders/dcgrib2 -m 15000 -d data/gempak/logs/dcgrib2_RAP.log
-e GEMTBL=/store1/gempak/GEMPAK6.7.0/gempak/tables
ldm/gempak/model/rap/YYYYMMDDHHfFFF_rap.gem
I ran a notifyme command with the pattern above and received data
(see snippet below).
