Yes, we saw the same thing at Unisys. Looks like we were max at 56.8 Mbps
between 19Z and 01Z. Here's our graph (daily and weekly, read from right to
left): http://i.imgur.com/GitzlA7.png
Has NWS identified which office or offices may be sending the requests?

Hello everyone,
As seen on Patrick Francis' modelweather.com NOAAport monitoring page,
since about 19Z, the NOAAport feed has been pegged at 50 mb/sec
thanks to retransmits. Anyone know what's going on?
Gilbert

As G (Gilberg Sebenste) pointed out earlier, we have been assailed by
NOAAPort Retransmits again
Here I have provided a chart highlighting the current barrage, which as
indicated began somewhere around 18:19Z today.
https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmodelweather.com%2Ffiles%2Fcases%2F2017%2F01%2F2017.01.31.NOAAPort.Rexmits.png&data=02%7C01%7CBrian.Hughes%40unisys.com%7C5ebc78e462a8434683b808d44a43306d%7C8d894c2b238f490b8dd1d93898c5bf83%7C0%7C0%7C636215099827645593&sdata=XQ0EbCDvm%2F0w3EMamXMq7iSxZnBqr9Mcp1zOdg3XgTI%3D&reserved=0
We never heard back about who, or what may have been the cause the last
few times, but it seemed prudent to ensure that all appropriate
personnel were notified
Perhaps aliens are watching Netflix through the Dish again?

Fixed
The fix occurred around 23.30z ... Interesting to note is that when the
restransmit blasts cease, there is a clear improvement in Carrier to
Noise at the receiving stations. Please note:
https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmodelweather.com%2Ffiles%2Fcases%2F2017%2F01%2F2017.01.31.NOAAPort.Rexmits.fixed.png&data=02%7C01%7CBrian.Hughes%40unisys.com%7C5ebc78e462a8434683b808d44a43306d%7C8d894c2b238f490b8dd1d93898c5bf83%7C0%7C0%7C636215099827655601&sdata=sD2VJ%2BwWFuWuii2PqXI7Ays1XIi44v%2BZ6%2F%2FoLVt2bCs%3D&reserved=0
The top chart is volume again, the two charts below are Carrier to Noise
on my two NOAAPort Dishes... note these two dishes are in geographically
distinct locations, each with their own Novras and they both display
that when the retransmit blasts stop, carrier to noise improves
Thanks Gilbert for pointing out the issue, and thanks to the mysterious
person that fixed it
cheers,
--patrick
