Users of NEXRAD Level 3 N0R, N0V and N0Z products:
On Wednesday, May 5 at approximately 15 UTC, the NWS ceased production of
the WSR-88D Low-Resolution Products N0R, N0V and N0Z for most, but not
(yet) all stations. One of the impacts of this move (which has been
promised for the past 2+ years) is the cessation of creation of the
U.S. national N0R composite products (in both GINI and GRIB2 formats)
in Unidata and their dissemination in the IDD FNEXRAD feed.
Users of the N0R Level 3 product and the U.S. national N0R composite
are advised to switch to using the DHR product and the U.S. national
DHR composite that we are also creating and distributing in the IDD
FNEXRAD feed. Users of the N0R composite in GRIB2 format do not have
an alternative as the DHR composite is only being created in GINI format
at this time.
