[netcdf-java] String length limit?

Hi,

  Does netcdf-java have a limit in the size of string?

I got an error message:

  "DString deserialize string length (dap_length: 33417) to large"

when netcdf-java tried to open a string dataset that has 33419
characters through OPeNDAP.

p.s. Is "to" typo in the error message? I think it must be "too".
