thanks for you reply.
Not a real problem: I was just working on code which compares the mapping
parameters and the mapping name against a custom EPSG definition we made to
represent projection which should be polar stereographic.
Since we now know that they are reported as "simply" stereographic we can
just update our custom EPSGs with that name to let it work.
