Subject: Re: [netcdf-java] octahedral model grid support
I am investigating on this with a different tool now as well and it appears to
be good old grib1 file with gaussian grid. So, something else goes wrong when
reading in this.

Hi John,
I have an example file for this new grid. You can download it here:
http://jmp.sh/qGRzDNB
I have tried to open it with the NetCDF library but it did not work.

Hi Martijn:
What do "octahedral grids" look like?
Do you have any sample files?

As ECMWF will use a octahedral grid to deliver their model issues in near
future, I would like to know if NETCDF-java will support this grid type from
the moment ECMWF will start using this?
I think they will deliver this new grid starting somewhere early 2016.
