> Projects :

> Application of Network Common Array oriented Data
  Storage and Retrieval.

Client : National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore.
Role : Analysis, Design, Coding & Testing.
  Environment : NetCDF.

Description: The Computational and theoretical fluid
dynamics (CTFD) division of the National Aerospace
Laboratories(NAL), Bangalore, handles large data sets
which are often stored in binary format. This prevents
one from copying the data sets to other platforms.

The present project addresses this problems of porting
binaries across varies platforms using NetCDF, a
network common data format mainly designed for array
oriented data (Which is what most CFD application
use). NetCDF comes with varies interfaces in different
languages Like Fortran, C, C++, Java, Perl etc.

First Phase of the project aims to adopt the existing
CFD codes in fortran to make use of NetCDF library.
Second Phase of the project aims to develop a subset
of the C++ interface that can be called directly
within a fortran program thereby making the use of the
interface a lot easier.

> Multi Language Editor :
Client : As a Part of B.E. Course
Role : Analysis, Design & Coding.
  Environment : Turbo C.

Description : This software is a multi language
editor which can prepared in terms to act as an editor
for any desired language, Whose scipt and grammer is
well defined. This paticular software as been
implemented for three languages namely Hindi, Kannada
and English according to a standard indian languages
typewritter on the computer keyboard.

This software is completely flexible and user friendly
and its each module is complete in itsef and can
perform its desired function indepedently in an
efficient manner.

The important function from the processing point of
view of the editor is that, it perform the function of
changing over, the key pressed to character in the
desired language for printing purpose by the
strategies given below.

1. It scans each character properly by analysing the
pixel positions represented by the predefined code of
each character in matrix 16x12 columns.
2. By the above method the character is identified
for the text and the corresponding desired character
is assigned to a particular key.

Hello

Did anybody succed in making NetCDF work with the Fujitsu F95 compiler
for Linux. If so I would like to get the details.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I have a quasi-solution with the Lahey-Fujitsu compiler.
I do not know if this will work with the "pure" Fujitsu compiler,
but here it goes:

I started with a precompiled rpm-file with the
netcdf-library for g77.

In the include file netcdf.inc, all external statemenst
are replaced with ml_external.

In my fortran code, all netcdf-calls must have a trailing
underscore (e.g. nf_def_dim_ instead of nf_def_dim).

Finally I link with the lg2c-library
(-L/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/egcs-2.91.66 -lg2c in
my RedHat 6.0 installation)

The modification of the netcdf.inc-file I can live with,
but changing the code is not a satisfactory solution when
you use several other platforms.
(even if I have a Python script to do it automatically).

My feeling is that it should be possible to come up with
a better solution in the Lahey-Fujitsu case, and would
like to know if anybody has done it.
