Hi Richard,
Thanks! From what you're saying I guess you did the installation
without disabling netcdf 4. I did, and maybe that's the problem...

Hi Frederico,
I have moved to the beta release of the fortran library, which works
fine for me on Ubuntu 12.10. Also the "make check" runs without
problems (giving me some confidence).
I have installed on our systems:hdf5-1.8.10, netcdf-4.2.1.1,
netcdf-fortran-4.4-beta1 and netcdf-cxx4-4.2
Good luck, Richard

Hi,
I'm trying to compile Netcdf 4.2 (the fortran library, following
the suggestions at
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/docs/netcdf-fortran-install.html ) with gfortran, but I'm currently receiving errors during make check: the errors are about undefined references to
"for_...".
I'm currently under Ubuntu 12.10 (x64) and using gfortran 4.7.2.
Thanks for any advice and best regards,
Federico
