The CSCS netCDF reader was created by myself many years ago and hasn't been
supported in quite some ime. It had a lot of nice features, but independently,
Ken Moreland (I think) at Sandia created another reader which was put into the
paraview/vtk main source tree and is maintained regularly.
The link Roy supplied should tell you the basics. If you download or checkout
a recent paraview it should be bundled and ready to use.
