Re: [netcdfgroup] nccopy fails with corrupted double link list

With the wrong expression I'm getting a more (??) meaningful error

$ nccopy -k 4 "http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/thredds/dodsC/Datasets/ncep.reanalysis/pressure/air.2014.nc?air[524:524][0][34:20][26:40],time[524:524],level[0],lat[34:20],lon[26:40]"; air_1000_2014_12_5_00Z.nc

Operation not permitted

Location: file nccopy.c; line 1355

I'm using 4.4.0

Antonio

Dennis - thanks for pointing that out !

Is there another way to capture that error than the one I got i.e. core dumped ?

Regards.

    The index ranges [34:20] is illegal. If you reverse them all to 20:34,
    it appears to work.

        I don't mind upgrading to netcdf 4.4.4 or 4.4.3 but will that
        fix the
        problem ? Searching the archives I could not see anyone report
        this problem.

            Hello,
                       I am getting this error(this never happened
        before) when
            I run nccopy today

            ncopy -k 4
"http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/thredds/dodsC/Datasets/ncep.reanalysis/pressure/air.2014.nc?air[524:524][0][34:20][26:40],time[524:524],level[0],lat[34:20],lon[26:40]";

            I get *** Error in 'nccopy' : corrupted double-linked list:
            0x000000000000b3a430 ***

            core dumped

            I checked for this error online and it appears to be
        related to
            glibc but I have not changed that recently.

            I am using netcdf 4.3.2 and I am on Ubuntu 14.04 and I
        compiled
            netcdf with icc.

            When I do a regular nccopy from one file to another that
        works -

            i.e. nccopy a.nc <http://a.nc> <http://a.nc> b.nc
        <http://b.nc> <http://b.nc>. It is only when
            it has to do a network call it appears to be failing. Any
        suggestions ?

            Regards.
            Ashwin.
