WERNLY, CHIEF, WARNING AND FORECAST BRANCH SUBJECT: CARIBOU MAINE WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE RETAINING COUNTY WARNING AREA On August 26, 1994 a Public Information Statement was issued stating that the National Weather Service was transferring short- fused warning responsibility for four (4) northern Maine counties (Table 1) to the Portland/Gray, Maine (PWM) Weather Service Forecast Office (WSFO) from the Caribou (CAR), Maine Weather Service Office (WSO) on November 1, 1994. The transfer of these four counties HAS BEEN POSTPONED INDEFINITELY. For these counties, WSO CAR will RETAIN short-fuse warning and related product responsibility. For holders of NWS Operations Manual Chapter C-47, County Warning Areas, this transfer postponement is an amendment to the 38th update of 1994 of the latest chapter issuance. Table 1.
