I am trying to >get this information from stations CEZ, DRO and PPF, in Kansas and >Colorado. Where can I get lat/lon, elevation, etc. information about these >and any new stations which come online? I agree that this is annoying. I found the information in several places. First is the ASOS location table that the NWS has on-line: http://www.nws.noaa.gov/pub/modernize/asos.txt Secondly, the McIDAS IDMSL table was recently updated to include most (if not all) ASOS locations. Here are the results from the MSL command: MSL CEZ: IDN ID STATION NAME DATA TYPES ST CO LAT LON ELEV 724767 CEZ CORTEZ/MONTEZUMA CO W CO US 37:18N 108:38W 1803 MSL DRO: IDN ID STATION NAME DATA TYPES ST CO LAT LON ELEV 724625 DRO DURANGO/LA PLATA CO W CO US 37:09N 107:45W 2038 MSL PPF: IDN ID STATION NAME DATA TYPES ST CO LAT LON ELEV 724508 PPF PARSONS/TRI CITY KS US 37:20N 095:31W 274 You can access this table on line at: http://shecky.unidata.ucar.edu/stations.html Thirdly, you can check the GEMPAK station table on line at: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/staff/chiz/stations/stations.shtml I'm cc'ing the nws-changes list on this because others probably have the same question. >Thanks, > >Gilbert > >***************************************************************************** >Gilbert Sebenste, volunteer \/ >Assistant McIDAS/DD+ Administrator * /\ _||_ * >Northern Illinois University | / \ >Internet: sebenste@xxxxxxxxxxxx \/ /______\ * > >Phone: (815)-335-2213 X249 (W) |\_ | _ | * > (815)-756-1931 (H) ___________|__________|__|_|_|________________ >***************************************************************************** Don Murray **************************************************************************** < Unidata User Support UCAR Unidata Program < (303)497-8644 P.O.
