EACH TIME A SET OF HAZARDOUS WEATHER UPDATES IS INITIATED FOR A NEW STORM...THE FINAL DIGIT OF THE IDENTIFIER WILL BE INCREASED FROM THAT OF THE PREVIOUS STORM SYSTEM. THE TEST WILL LAST APPROXIMATELY ELEVEN MONTHS...ENDING IN MAY 1997. DURING THAT TIME...FEEDBACK FROM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICES...EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT...AND THE MEDIA WILL BE USED TO DETERMINE THE UTILITY AND FORMAT OF THIS PRODUCT.
