A GOES-9 East-West Station keeping maneuver will be performed on Wednesday, June 24, 1998 at 1028 UTC. For National Weather Service operations: This is the only window of opportunity (must be completed). This short notice event is resulting from issues last week with the spacecraft. On June 24th, the following exclusive schedule will be employed to support maneuver operations (*PLEASE NOTE the scheduled GOES-8 full disk scan period to support the primary GOES-9 data outage): GOES-9 E-W Station keeping Maneuver Schedule of Operations Maneuver Schedule begins at 0533 UTC >From 0552 UTC through 0559 UTC -- No GOES-9 imaging or soundings >From 0600 UTC through 0829 UTC -- GOES-9 routine imaging and soundings >From 0830 UTC through 0844 UTC -- No GOES-9 Imaging or Soundings >From 0845 UTC through 1014 UTC -- GOES-9 Routine Imaging and Soundings (except no Sounding at 1001 UTC) >From 1015 UTC through 1159 UTC -- No GOES-9 Imaging or Soundings ***From 1015 UTC through 1214 UTC -- GOES-8 full disk imaging**** >From 1200 UTC through 1829 UTC -- GOES-9 abbreviated full disk (19 minute scan) and northern hemisphere (NH) imaging, and ASOS-1 coverage soundings only 1830 UTC -- GOES-9 routine imager and sounder schedule resumes Expect GOES-9 imager and sounder gridding offsets for up to 6 hours following the maneuver time. -------------------------------------------------------------- Steven Arnett Satellite Analysis Branch NOAA/NESDIS/SSD steve.arnett@xxxxxxxx --------------------------- End Of Message -----------------------------------
