NEW DATA ARE RADIANCES FROM THE NOAA-15 HIGH RESOLUTION INFRARED SOUNDER /HIRS/ NUMBER 3 /HIRS-3/ AND THE ADVANCED MICROWAVE SOUNDING UNIT /AMSU/ FOR TEMPERATURE /AMSU-A/. REASONS FOR THE CHANGE ARE DATA AVAILABILITY...RECENT LOSS OF THE NOAA-11 MICROWAVE SOUNDING UNIT DATA AND IMMINENT LOSS OF NOAA-11 HIRS DATA. TESTING HAS SHOWN MINOR IMPACT IN THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE AND IMPROVED LARGE-SCALE FEATURES IN THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE.
