365 NOUS40 KWBC 201407 FOS/NOAAPORT NOTICE NO. 1792 AUGUST 20... 2000 ATTENTION FAMILY OF SERVICES SUBSCRIBERS/NOAAPORT USERS SUBJECT NOAA-L LAUNCH DELAYED THE NOAA-L LAUNCH FROM VANDENBURG AFB CALIFORNIA THAT WAS SCHEDULED FOR APPROXIMATELY 1022 UTC ON 9/20/00 WAS SCRUBBED THIS MORNING. THE DELAY WAS CAUSED BY A TRANSISTOR IN THE TITAN LAUNCH VEHICLE EXPERIENCING A CURRENT OVERLOAD. IT COULD NOT BE DETERMINED WITHIN THE LAUNCH WINDOW WHAT THE EFFECTS OF THE OVERLOAD WERE ON THE TRANSISTOR AND OR WHAT CAUSED THE OVERLOAD CONDITION WITHIN THE TITAN. FURTHER REVIEW OF THE SITUATION WILL OCCUR TODAY /9/20/00/ WITH A DECISION WHETHER TO RESCHEDULE LAUNCH FOR TOMORROW /9/21/00/ EXPECTED LATER TODAY. AT THIS POINT IN TIME... THE LAUNCH TEAM IS MAKING PREPARATIONS FOR A 24-HOUR LAUNCH SLIP FOR 1022Z /0622 EDT/ ON THURSDAY... SEPTEMBER 21. THE LAUNCH WINDOW REMAINS APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES.
