On Tuesday May 22 at 7:00am EDT (11:00 UTC) we will replace a processor card on the Telecommunication Operations Center (TOC) non-secure router (NWS Washington, DC). We expect the downtime to last about 30 minutes. The affected router is located outside the SOC firewall. Users can expect some interruption in the following types of services: Access across links directly connected to this router (e.g., NWS regions and SAS) Internet access to ftp servers Access to our web servers Access to servers from local Campus networks Data flowing through our secure router should not be affected. This includes data associated with NCEP and radar data. We apologize for any inconvenience that this outage may cause. Please contact me if the timing of this outage presents a critical problem for your operations. Please forward this message to anyone who will be affected by this action but was left off the mailing list. I would appreciate if you would send me the email address of anyone that should be informed of scheduled downtime in the future, but was not included in the current list. Also, inform me if you wish to have your name removed from this list. Jackie Lord
