A GOES-8 East-West Station Keeping maneuver will be performed on Tuesday, August 21, 2001 at 1753 UTC. For National Weather Service operations: The backup date, and last window of opportunity (final date) for this maneuver is Thursday, August 23, 2001. If the NWS regions have any operational concerns, please contact the NCEP SDM (301-763-8298) at least 6.5 hours prior to the maneuver time. On August 21, the following exclusive schedule will be employed to support maneuver operations: (*PLEASE NOTE the scheduled GOES-10 Full Disk scan period to support the primary GOES-8 outage during the maneuver.*) Maneuver Schedule starts at 1134 UTC on August 21, 2001. Southern Hemisphere scan at 1139 UTC is canceled. *From 1745 UTC through 1914 UTC -- No GOES-8 Imaging or Soundings* **From 1730 UTC through 1929 UTC -- GOES-10 Full Disk Imaging** Including: Abbreviated Full Disk Images (19 minute scan) at XX45 Northern Hemisphere Images at XX15 CONUS Soundings at XX46 22/0145 UTC -- GOES-8 Routine Scan Operations Resume Expect GOES-8 imager and sounder gridding offsets for up to six hours following the maneuver.
