Topic: GOES-8 East West Maneuver July 30, 2002 Message Issued: July 17, 2002, 1209 UTC Satellites Impacted: GOES-8 and GOES-10 Products Impacted: GOES-8 Imager and Sounder Data and GOES-8 Imager Data Date/Time of Initial Impact: July 30, 2002 1134 UTC -------------------------- Details: A GOES-8 East-West Station Keeping maneuver will be performed on Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at 1805 UTC. For National Weather Service operations: The backup date, and last window of opportunity (final date) for this maneuver is Thursday, August 01, 2002. If the NWS regions have any operational concerns, please contact the NCEP SDM (301-763-8298) at least 6.5 hours prior to the maneuver time. On July 30, the following exclusive schedule will be employed to support maneuver operations: (*PLEASE NOTE the scheduled GOES-10 Full Disk scan period to support the primary GOES-8 outage during the maneuver.*) Maneuver Schedule starts at 1134 UTC on July 30, 2002. Southern Hemisphere scan at 1139 UTC is canceled.
