NWS FTP SERVER USERS FROM RTH WASHINGTON DATA MANAGEMENT SUBJECT EVANSVILLE AND BRANDON RADARS The National Weather Service (NWS) will begin operating a new radar at Evansville, IN, on January 31, 2003. This radar will produce the same products set as the WSR-88Ds. Users will be able to receive these products routinely through the Radar Products Central Collection/Dissemination Service (RPCCDS) beginning January 31. Some products will also be available intermittently before that date. The NWS is moving the radar at Jackson, MS, to Brandon, MS. The Brandon radar will become operational between February 13 and 28, 2003. Once operations start products from the Brandon radar will be transmitted to users through the RPCCDS on a routine basis and products from the Jackson radar will no longer be available.
