Topic: GOES-12 East/West Maneuver October 14, 2003 Message Issued: Occtober 1, 2003, 1145 UTC Satellites Impacted: GOES-10 and GOES-12 Products Impacted: GOES-12 Imager and Sounder Data and GOES-10 Imager Data Date/Time of Initial Impact: October 14, 2003 1834 UTC -------------------------- Details: A GOES-12 East-West Station Keeping maneuver will be performed on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 1900 UTC. For National Weather Service operations: The backup date for this maneuver is Thursday, October 16, 2003. If the NWS regions have any operational concerns, please contact the NCEP SDM (301-763-8298) at least 6.5 hours prior to the maneuver time. On October 14, the following exclusive schedule will be employed to support maneuver operations: (*PLEASE NOTE the scheduled GOES-10 Full Disk scan period to support the primary GOES-12 outage during the maneuver.*) GOES-12 Maneuver Schedule starts at 1250 UTC on October 14, 2003. GOES-12 Southern Hemisphere scan at 1309 UTC is canceled.

Soundings.
GOES-12 Short Full Disk (19 minute) scan at 1815 UTC.
