Topic: Meteosat Scheduled Interruptions Message Issued: October 23, 2003, 1430 UTC Satellites Impacted: Meteosat-7 and Meteosat-5 Products Impacted: Imagery and Services from Meteosat-7 and Meteosat-5 Date/Time of Initial Impact: October 25, 2003 1200 UTC ----------------------------------------- Details: Scheduled interruptions for Week 43 and 44 Meteosat 0° Service (Met-7) Week 43 - Due to a MET-7 moon eclipse on 25 Oct 2003 (day 03.298) slot 24 will not be available. Week 44 - Due to a Met-7 E-W maneuver at 04:28 on 28 Oct 2003 (day 03.301), Users may experience degraded image quality for up to 6 hours after the maneuver. Meteosat 63° Service (Met-5) None. Meteosat Second Generation (Commissioning Operations) The EUMETCast dissemination trial is ongoing. On 28 October 2003 (day 03.301) at 13:00 UTC it is planned to start the dissemination of the IMPF level 1.5 images instead of the IQGSE level 1.5 ones. A short interruption to the SEVIRI dissemination during working hours is to be expected. Some differences are to be expected in the headers, image quality and compression efficiency. The HRV window position will be affected by the on going commissioning tests. SEVIRI gain setting adjustment may be required from time to time.
