Delays until now were related to a minor, but important, issue in transmitting the data to some foreign users. Note that both sets of files have been disseminated for several months. In reference to http://WWW.NWS.NOAA.GOV/dm-cgi-bin/chgshow.pl?fn=NESDIS20904.txt and http://WWW.NWS.NOAA.GOV/dm-cgi-bin/chgshow.pl?fn=NESDIS1.txt (also found at http://WWW.NWS.NOAA.GOV/datamgmt/notices.shtml ) the communication identifier for the TCUS (ASOS Satellite Cloud Products) and TW (High Density Wind) bulletins as products by the Satellite Services Division will changes identifiers from KWBC to KNES to properly reflect the identifying organization. Currently, both sets of bulletins are being disseminated to the FOS and GTS users for parallel testing and operation. Effective December 16, 2003 at 1600Z, the KWBC bulletins will be terminated, leaving only the KNES bulletins for use. Specific bulletins affected are as follows: OLD WMO HEADING NEW WMO HEADING TCUS40 KWBC TCUS40 KNES TCUS41 KWBC TCUS41 KNES TCUS42 KWBC TCUS42 KNES TCUS43 KWBC TCUS43 KNES TCUS51 KWBC TCUS51 KNES TCUS52 KWBC TCUS52 KNES TCUS53 KWBC TCUS53 KNES TCUS54 KWBC TCUS54 KNES TCUS62 KWBC TCUS62 KNES TWNA01 KWBC TWNA01 KNES TWNA03 KWBC TWNA03 KNES TWNA04 KWBC TWNA04 KNES TWNA06 KWBC TWNA06 KNES TWNA07 KWBC TWNA07 KNES TWNA09 KWBC TWNA09 KNES TWNA11 KWBC TWNA11 KNES TWNA13 KWBC TWNA13 KNES TWSA01 KWBC TWSA01 KNES TWSA03 KWBC TWSA03 KNES TWSA04 KWBC TWSA04 KNES TWSA06 KWBC TWSA06 KNES TWSA07 KWBC TWSA07 KNES TWSA09 KWBC TWSA09 KNES TWSA11 KWBC TWSA11 KNES TWSA13 KWBC TWSA13 KNES ------------------------------------------ Contact Information: Tom Renkevens Satellite Services Division NOAA/NESDIS/OSDPD 301-763-8081 x109 Thomas.Renkevens@xxxxxxxx See http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/SATS/messages.html for this and other satellite related messages.
