Topic: Communication Identifier Change for TW* Bulletins Message Issued: January 07, 2004, 2020 UTC Satellites Impacted: GOES-10 and GOES-12 Products Impacted: TW* - Satellite Derived Winds Date/Time of Initial Impact: January 13, 2004, 1500 UTC ----------------------------------------- Details: ********************** Update: Changes to TW* bulletins were delayed several times due to distribution problems downstream of NESDIS and other issues. The final cutover date of these bulletins is January 13, 2004 at 1500Z. Note that similar changes to TCUS* bulletins occurred in mid December. ********************** This message updates previously issued messages in August, September, and December regarding an identifier change to several satellite text products. Previous delays are related to issues in transmitting the data to a few users. Note that both sets of files have been disseminated for several months. In reference to http://WWW.NWS.NOAA.GOV/dm-cgi-bin/chgshow.pl?fn=NESDIS20904.txt and http://WWW.NWS.NOAA.GOV/dm-cgi-bin/chgshow.pl?fn=NESDIS1.txt (also found at http://WWW.NWS.NOAA.GOV/datamgmt/notices.shtml ) the communication identifier for the TW* (High Density Wind) bulletins as produced by the Satellite Services Division will changes identifiers from KWBC to KNES to properly reflect the identifying organization. Currently, both sets of bulletins are being disseminated to the FOS and GTS users for parallel testing and operation. Effective January 13, 2004 at 1500Z, the KWBC bulletins will be terminated for TW*, leaving only the KNES bulletins for use. This change to KNES for TW* bulletins has been delayed several times due to downstream dissemination and other issues.
