Topic: GOES-10 Lunar Shadow 05/18-19/04 Message Issued: May 17, 2004, 1215 UTC Satellites Impacted: GOES-10 and GOES-12 Products Impacted: GOES-10 Imager and Sounder Data and GOES-12 Imager Data Date/Time of Initial Impact: May 18, 2003 1500 UTC -------------------------- Details: A lunar shadow will affect GOES-10 on May 18 and 19, 2003. The following scan schedule will be implemented to offset the loss of GOES-10 data during the shadow: On May 18: GOES-10 Routine Imaging/Souding ops through 1459 UTC. No GOES-10 imaging/soundings 1500 to 1644 UTC. GOES-12 Full Disk operations 1445 to 1644 UTC. Routine GOES-10 imaging/soundings resume at 1645 UTC. On May 19: GOES-10 Routine Imaging/Souding ops through 0749 UTC. No GOES-10 imaging/soundings 0750 to 0851 UTC. GOES-12 Full Disk operations 0715 to 0914 UTC.
